You can only drive your truck, not everybody else's vehicle. 45 is the speed limit. Go a speed you always drive in a 45 zone.

It is my belief as a truck driver you should be held to a different standard. You should be an example to other motorists. Going 45 in a posted 45 zone is not unsafe.

If you drop to 45 at the beginning of the posted 45mph zone then the flow of traffic isn't going to be 60 - 65 mph anymore. At least not in your lane. Some of these so called "professional" drivers need to slow the hell down.

why not just do the #### speed limit, I can't even tell you how many times I was amost hit by some a-hole truck driver who just has to drive faster than everyone else in the construction zone, and one time lost a mirror and the driver just kept on going, when the lanes are so narrow you almost can't fit 2 trucks side by side why do you need to be passing everyone

Because they are in a slow company truck. It is their one chance to get in front of eveyone because they enjoy being passed!!

i hate when they make it 2 lanes lined with jersey barriers on each side with absolutely no shoulder at all.....the thing is if i drive 45mph through this and everybody else is passing me, including billy big riggers, it makes me uncomfortable being passed in such a narrow space so i speed up a little so not as many will pass me

i dont know what it is about this city but they are determined to have construction EVERYWHERE for some reason

My motto,"Gimme 4 more." That's it. Let the rest of the world pass you by. They can afford the points.

There's a time and place for everything. Drivers find the wrong places sometimes to cut corners. There are better ways to save time.
I respect construction zones even with no one present. Cops love to set up traps there too.
It just takes a few seconds more to do the speed limit. Over 800 road construction workers a year on average are killed or injured.

Most of the drivers today think it's okay to speed. They don't like to get behind me in a zone. I don't care what they think. It tickles me when one will run off to the side, like, look at me, I'm behind you, let's go. Drivers mentality diminishes on the road.

The speed limit is 45mph and I would do just that. Act like a rock in a river, let the traffic flow around you. Because all of sudden, Over the next small hill is brake lights, if you try cruising with traffic !!! :biggrin_25524:
