What you are referring to are route drivers. Not only in the beverage end of the food business, but bread and bakery companies, snack and chip companies etc. Most get paid some hourly rate plus a small commission on sales, depending on the nature of the route. In all cases you have to deliver and stack the product where the customer wants it, or place it on the shelf in an appealing manner. Requires decent physical strength plus a clean uniform and a desire to deal with the public. Not for everyone, I don't see many route drivers over say 45 years old.
What is the old Dennis Miller Joke? "If you are 35 years old and you still have a name tag on your shirt, you should have considered another career path"
