I wouldn't drive 20 feet today without a dash cam. It's too much anarchy on the roads now. I have a Garmin 35 and I'm happy with it. But I need something more than just out-the-windshield. I need one that looks in both rear view mirrors as well. And maybe even pointed rearward from the back of the rig. One thing I won't do is buy a cam from a truck stop. They're way too expensive at those places and their return policies suck. If you buy a cam from a T/S and it's defective but doesn't quit until 45 days in, you're SOL. Gotta send it to back to the manufacturer and wait weeks or months.

I'd like to amend the OP's question to Top Dash Cam for Dummies ( er electronic gadget challenged ).
We have a guy that has 6 cameras for 360 coverage on his laptop. That's way over the top for me. I want to make videos of the canyons and passes I go through.Cat sdp Thanks this.
