Do the heavy-duty diesel engine emissions have a 8-year/80,000 mile warranty period like the "cars" do? Per the federal requirement - or does that only apply to cars?
Most motorcoaches (Monaco, Newmar, Tiffin Thor/Rev, etc.) which usually cost upwards of $400K (some are in the millions) only have a one or two year warranty. It's crazy someone would spend that much money and not get a longer warranty from the manufacturer. On RVs, the mileage is typically low so its not uncommon for a 7 or 8 year coach to have under 80,000 miles.
Is the DEF, DPF, etc. covered for 8 years/80K ? This stuff is expensive to fix, and many Coach owners are complaining of failures in coaches that are under 3 years old (or less).
The basic engine warranty (from Cummins) is only 2 years.
What is the warranty period regarding emissions devices?
