How has the Pilot in Channahon, IL not been mentioned?

Why would it be? , it's just a small fuel stop with no showers.
And they've redone the lot, two ways in and out now.

    MadScientist and JC1971 Thank this.

Y’all gotta be too young to remember Rube’s in Jersey City. Or Frank’s? somewhere around Suffolk / Newport News VA.

You're thinking of the Pilot in Murfreesboro at exit 81. That place is a clusterf*ck. I refuse to park there unless bobtail. The loves 8 miles down the freeway in Christiana is better.

I miss the trucking lifestyle when the 76 truck stops existed. Not so much the 76 truck stops themselves. I liked a lot of the other independent truck stops and roadside diners that also existed in that time.

You pick up the stench of West Memphis all the way in North Little Rock. Or maybe it's just one stench that stretches all the way down the forty. Kind of like driving through Amarillo. You know your there from the smell.

On Sunday morning, grandma was in the kitchen cooking. And by cooking I do not mean opening a plastic bag to throw into a fryer. ;-) If you knew where to go, the food was first rate.
