What is the worst truck stop in the US?

Hate that place with a passion.

 

and that little bar across the street has good food

 

forgot about that one .. Stoney ridge truck stop south the other stoney ridge is on 280 north of the turnpike ..... I believe there are chuck holes in the parking lot you can get lost in .... believe it or not those 2 truck stops were really nice in the 80's and before .... that Monroe is a poster board for sheet hole truckstops lol

 

I can’t even call that a truck stop

 

I have lost touch with a guy I know that knows a bit of the history of that Atlanta Petro. If I remember correctly at one time that location was owned by Jack Cardwell. He did not want to build where he did. There is a reason you did not find many truck stops from Villa Rica to I 285. Some tough zoning laws added to very valuable property. Cardwell thought about Temple I don't know what happened to this. I can't remember the year the Petro was built in Carnesville. However Cardwell if I remember it correctly wanted his truck stop in Douglassville but could not get the area zoned for a truck stop. He finally settled on that plot at US 78 and I 285. I don't remember if Cardwell is alive now. However he did express regret at having that Truck stop where it is today. Oh by the way. There used to be good food served there many years ago.

 

It's either the TA or Petro now...... I'm currently parked at the Petro. They have done a bunch to clean up the drugs and lizards. Can't do much about the customers.....
