I'm just north of town about 2miles, but I farm directly north bordering town. The truck is a 5 and 4...interesting to drive when I'm used to a 13 speed![]()

Sorry, just reread your post. No, the truck is (faded) red in color with a white gravel box. I'll post some pics as soon as I can. I really like the truck, it's just too bad I'm going to have to get dirty before I can do much with it.

You either cracked a piston, droped a valve through it, or gaulded a cylinder. That much blow by will not be caused by rings.
The compression release is to be used when starting the truck in cold weather, as the engine will spin faster with no load on the starter. As soon as it is released the engine will load the starter, since you now have full compression, and hopefully start up.Last edited: Apr 1, 2010

I sent you a PM , I think I know where some parts are for that engine are local

If you pull the compression release while motor is running the motor will die if everything is working properly

Longhood, I haven't been on this forum long enough to send PMs, but I can get them. If you PM me your email, then I can get some info about the parts.
By the way, thanks to all of you who responded to my question...I get the old beast on the road yet! -
sending another PM
