I'll be moving out west soon, to southern Utah. I currently live in Savannah, but Ill be moving for family reasons. I'd rather not leave my current company, but they don't run out there.
From what I can tell, there isn't a whole lot in that area for an O/O, unless you want to run out of Phoenix or salt lake. Problem is, that puts me 400 miles from either terminal...a problem when I am the truck mechanic as well, who still has a commitment every month with the military.
Right now, I take my truck home a whopping 40 minutes and work on whatever on my off time.
I only see two places out there that pull tanks that might work...Keenan out of Vegas and Action Resources out of SLC. With the Grand canyon nearby, I would only run out of Phoenix or Flagstaff as as a last resort.
Am I overlooking something here? Maybe another company? I usually take home about $4000/wk avg now after expenses, and expect that to drop somewhat out there...not to mention Cali, which sucks and is a place I'd rather avoid(but probably won't be able to) All I've done is tanker, and the truck is a paid off 2010 kw. Any input?
What is with the lack of tanker companies out west?

A&R Logistics has a terminal in Las Vegas, but don't know if that terminal uses owner-operators. The specifications for owner-operator trucks are on the website.

Judging from satellite and Google Street view photos, their equipment tells me they carry alot of fuel, they have late model Pete daycabs, and deal in tanker doubles. Didn't see anything that said OTR, doesn't necessarily mean they don't do that. I can check it out on Monday.
