I have a friend who drives his own truck. Yet hates getting off the freeway. He'll drive a lot of extra miles if it means an all-freeway route. That, to me, is a steering wheel holder.
What is YOUR definition of a "steering wheel holder"

I would define "steering wheel holder" as a driver who doesn't actually drive professionally. Someone who got their CDL, realized trucking isn't all glory and scantily clad women, and refuses to work like the rest who do a good job.
SheepDog and Tin Can Man Thank this. -

There is a certain Interstate I travel often. Six lanes, three each direction, left lane no trucks allowed. -I- ride that middle lane at 65 with a governed truck. When a truck comes up behind me I move to the right lane and let the driver pass. The highway has many exits close to each other and I don't think I have to explain what occurs more often than not with four-wheelers trying to merge when they're coming off the on-ramp onto the Interstate. No way am I riding that far right lane any more than I have to. -

I've always been fond of holding onto the steering wheel...especially during road tests and whatnot.

Some companies drive you to become a steering wheel holder. If they don't care about you and your safety by getting things fixed after telling them repeately then why should the driver care.
