I have a pair of amber glasses... I've always taken them off when it gets dark, but have sometimes been surprised by how dark it was when I took them off. They really don't interfere much with night vision, though I never thought to wear them at night. I may try that.
Did you do it primarily because you were getting flashed, or just as something to decrease the intensity of normal oncoming lights?
