What "just in case" spare parts do you keep in your truck?

    Absolutely you can change it in a parking lot.You can change an N-14 injector in an hour.Done it several times.

    Isn't it frustrating as a company driver when you are the kind of guy who doesn't mind doing small fixes on the road to keep you going, but company policy, no tools in the truck usually because they always disappear over time? What I did when I was a company driver was to carry my own tool box, and take it with me when on days off. Won't always be everything you need but a heck of a lot better than sitting and waiting for help. If you throw in a selection of various bolts, screws, nails, a roll each of electrical tape and duct tape, some wire marettes, and a few air line couplers 1/8" to 1/2", you will be able to get yourself out of a lot of binds. As to your current problem, (probably long fixed now 4 days later) you can sometimes get away with putting a nail or a screw (got to play around til you find something that works) in the air line where it connects on the pot. IMO putting vice grips on a nylon line is really hard on the line, usually damages it, although it will usually work fine on the big rubber lines.

    Yeah, I'm working on putting together a kit now. I'd like to have an impact with a glad hand connection but I'm wondering what ft-lbs I would really need? I guess not much.

    I'll keep the kit as portable as possible. I'll see what I can come up with.

    I'm not really sure what you'd want to do with an impact on the road as a company driver? Unless you're going to be changing your own flats? That's way above and beyond what I was willing to do as a company driver. I don't even carry one as an o/o but then I also am home every night so that's different from many also.

    I mean, it might never get used hahah. I don't know... I'll consider becoming an O/O in May of next year. Maybe I just want an ultimate kit prepared before hand.

    I have a battery powered 1/4 drive impact I just put in the truck today, I guess that will work for now.

    Yes I guess one could do that. That is a little more than I trust myself to do in a parking lot. At home yes. Maybe I'll pack one under the bunk.

    You can get smaller impacts than the one inch ones used for tires

    I don't know that I would carry a spare ecm around with me be because I know that just riding around in a bunk for years will shorten an alts. Lifespan if not kill it
