There telling me there's two batteries for my truck at the freightliner dealership. Ones the Odyssey brand $500 each and the other is the alliance east pen for $100 each. There recommending the odyssey batteries it comes with apparently from the factory. The truck has odyssey batteries in it currently. I bought the truck with them in it which tells me i should probably put those in it. What do y'all put in your trucks?

Be careful with Odyssey. When I was researching batteries for deep off-road 4 wheeling a few years ago I learned that the former good reputation they had was tarnished in many reviewers opinion, after they moved out of their US plant. Apparently the quality dropped. I don’t know if that’s still currently the case or not.

I've never had luck replacing less than that always end up with the same problem again later. AGM last longer, don't lose hardly any cranking power in cold temps, but cost more. In your situation I'd probably replace them all with lead acid. Myself I prefer agm except last year when they needed replacing (first time 2016 truck) they were unavailable because covid. The cost was about 110 each for what I have vs 350 I think it was each for agm, not odyssey. Odyssey agm were going to be about 600 a piece. These are all cdn$.

Someone else may need to correct me here but I'm not sure it would be wise to have a mix of agm vs lead acid. At 500 the odyssey had better be agm and the 100 will be lead acid.

You don’t need that high dollar battery. Shop around before you buy, I ended up buying my batteries at Freightliner last month for cheaper then I could get them at Walmart.

Called them and they said there not available in our area. The dekka brand that is. She saw them on the computer there just none around here I guess. She had the Napa brand though for $170 each. Lead battery. Funny thing is Freightliner has the same batter for $98.

I called Freightliner back to verify what type of battery the odyssey was and they are agm. $650 each which is $250 more then what they quoted me yesterday. Weird.

What do you mean you never had any luck replacing less then that? Less then what?

So you don't think running lead vs's agm would cause any electrical issues? The guy I talked to at Freightliner seemed to thank it could since that come out of the factory with these agm battery's and all.
