what kind of license do I need to operate heavy equipments?

Do i need to get forklift certified even if i've driven a battery pallet jack, a forklift for 19 yrs.

 

LRT. Well all of the employee's here areable to run anything we have. We also do the labour part to. One day I may be in the truck. Next I may be mudding concrete manholes, etc. We dont have one certain job. That being said... Most of the time I drive the dump truck. As far as the law.. I dont get into that part of it;but the commercial jobs we do have blueprints that are drawn up by an engineer. If we do a privite job then no. I supose the law is the same here to. As far as the CDL. It is a requirement For driving dump truck. I do not need it for any of the other equipment. Being as I am the main truck driver I use my CDL almost every day. I think it would look better on a job resume if you have it. Having mine has opened up alot of job opportunitys. Hope this all makes sense.

 

The requirement for a CDL for your dump truck is because it can be used for the highway. You don't need a CDL if you're driving a Cat Off-Highway Dump Truck.

 

Ive operated two types without anything. One is a tracked dozer by Cat and the other is a CAT 936 front end wheeled loader for a ready mix. I did not consider that work at all. It was immensely enjoyable feeding that plant sand and rock among other things.

A game we used to play was place one 4 inch rock in the corner of the bucket and try to load a plastic wide wine glass on the ground. =)

Or with the dozer we stacked two childrens school books flat on the ground. Push one off the other below just enough to set them side by side. Do not rip, stop or tear into them during the game.

I can probably get right to work in 10 minutes after meeting any CAT wheeled loader being used today. (And greasing and fueling same)
