I am on day 3 of my training with a company...First day trainer told me to take the truck out of gear when turning then once turn is complete put truck back in gear....She does this..I have not been doing it.
What kind of manors or skills do most rookies lack?

Glad you're not doing that, at least.Injun and TractorGator Thank this. -
you darn well better be in gear when talking a road test making corners or they will fail you....no coasting to stops signs/lights...no shifting in an intersection or crossing rr tracks either......taking it out of gear to make a corner is dangerous like pack said...it could leave you stranded if you miss your gear and cause a hazard.... and be in the intersection even longer....
as for the original question...take your job seriously....dont be overconfident....none of us will ever know it all...once you think you do...(not you specifically) its the day you need to park...dont let other "push" you down a grade (tell you to speed up or tailgate trying to intimidate you)...please DRIVE SLOW thru the parking lots including customers, truckstops, restareas....and dont let anyone try to push you into breaking the law..ITS YOUR license....be safe ....hope it all works out for you!!!TractorGator and CertifiedSweetie Thank this. -
