    Actually that's WAY bellow 1gb, 1gb is roughly 1000mb.

I've been using a Verizon MiFi for three months now. My daughter went with me and seldom had a problem with being able to get a signal even as we were traveling. This is the only month I've been close to the 5gig limit I'm signed up for. She was on her favorite site of Build-a-Bear almost constantly and we emailed several pictures as well.

I believe he was calculating for the month not just for the week. If that is what he was doing then 1GB is about correct.

Yeah I was smarttowers, thanks. Sometimes my fingers don't type what I'm thinking.

Keep the updating and all that heavy bandwidth stuff for when you're at home. Like gravdigr said, you won't use the 5gig they give you at Verizon unless you download movies and things of that nature. I can surf, email and do quite a bit and the most I've ever used was just under 3gig in one month.

Yup this is the key, I load up my iPad and laptop when I get home. I also have have the 5gb cap through Verizon and only come close when I get really bored and stream netflix. Even going over is not a big deal, $10 a gig.

I use a sprint broadband card but I also have a HTC Evo that's rooted so I can use it as a wireless router also. My computer is on and connected to the net whenever I'm in the truck as I use it for loads. One plus with using the phone as a router as I can force the phone to roam to the Verizon network if I'm ever out of a sprint area. So between the card and the phone I'm always connected.

I'm grandfathered into my unlimited data plan on my iPhone and have a AT&T MiFi for when I want to use my netbook.

I got an old 3G Verizon broadband card re-activated when I started driving 3 months ago. $59 a month. I usually run about 500-600mb a month, the plan is a 5gb plan so I'm not coming close to going over. Verizon wanted to upgrade me of course to their new 4G card but that also comes with a 2 year contract, NO thanks. Since I already had the old card it's on a "month to month" basis with no contract. The guy at the Verizon store also said people buy old broadband cards from places like craigslist and e-bay and have them activated to avoid a contract.

Wrong, I have an older Verizon card, and while not the fastest, it is unlimited, I was going to go with a newer card and even the girl from Verizon told me to stay with what I had.
