    15W-40 will do

SheLL Rotella and Mobil Delvac seem to be the most trusted brands

i've got shell in right now. 10,000 miles and i'm losing oil presssure.

never have that problem with mobile1.

isx only likes mobile1. the last truck i drove had a sticker on the frame specifically recommending that oil.

you get better fuel economy. engine runs quieter. cooler. and oil pressure stays higher.

i can shut down for 10. and the temp guage still reads. shut down for 2 with mobile1 and the temp guage won't read.

i've also seen leaks that disappear with mobile1.

I use Mobil, but nothing wrong with Shell. I think keeping to a schedule and not trying to stretch the miles between changes and filters is the key. In the long run it is a false economy to save a few pennies running old oik.

Oil is oil. Pick a brand of 15w40 and stick with it. Some people use the cheapest brand every change to no ill effect. Regular oil samples tell the story.

I use 5-40 Mobile synthetic, with a OPS Ecopure bypass filter. 870,000 miles on a C-15 Accert, set the ping timing a few weeks ago, the compression is like a new engine. Only use a gallon every 15,000 miles. Oil samples are like a blood test for your truck, you can't tell problems by ignoring them and just draining and replacing.

    I use Rotella 15 40 .

888,000 on the motor. Will be due for another oil test in 12,000. Last one said it was like a new engine.

I use synthetic only ,summer and winter 5w40 Rotella T6 or Mobil ; no additives ;and change it every 25k. I have 1,120,000 milles on original motor Volvo D13, with egr /dpf.(Volvo 780/ 2008 ),still running great 8-9 mpg. I buy in gallon jugs from Wall Mart,Meijer for about 20$ /gal, my motor needs 9 gallons, I don't trust bulk synthetic from lube shops, I had problems in cold weather with synthetic oil from Speedco .
