when I interviewed for my current job, they asked me two questions.
"were you ever around a co-worker who got angry and and how did you handle it?"
"Were you ever around a job situation where someone was endangering themself and what did you do about it?"
Previous employer asked why I wanted a tanker job.
Previous, previous employer just asked questions to screen people for the specific job (tanker) .. Are you afraid of heights? How do you know you're not?
What kind of questions do they ask over the phone and during the face-to-face interview

As long as what you tell them beforehand is correct and they don't dig up anything hidden you should be fine... As you know Prime and Swift along with many others are mills that wanna push as many drivers through the door as possible...
You should be fine especially if your last job was for the previous 13 years...NewbieTransport Thanks this. -

Two questions I was asked to be hired in a face to face ups interview:
Why UPS?
Why should we hire you instead of someone else?
Questions asked at other companies:
When can you start?
Orientation is this this or this. -

It is really difficult to determine what questions an interviewer is going to ask an applicant. The best thing is to answer everything truthfully and have all records and important information available to be able to answer all questions accurately.
Good luck to you. God bless you and your family!

I worked across the river out of Clarksville behind the walmart not Worldport. Non union but still paid union wages. No seniority builds up doing that but who cares.
Doing the temp thing they hire you in at top rate. You actually can join the union there but Indiana gives you the option instead of forking out $130 then $26 recurring or whatnot it was.HalpinUout Thanks this. -
@NewbieTransport
Are you noticing a trend yet?
In general, the larger companies (megas) have such a high turnover with new drivers that they aren't going to spend the time or money interviewing you in the same manner that a Fortune 1000 company would. Most of what they'll be doing is just going over your application with you and getting more details from you. They usually don't dig too deep into psychological or behavioral questions and unless they have a good reason to do so.
For comparison, when I interviewed for my current position (IT Support @ a large hospital), I interviewed with two senior analysts and a department manager. I was asked several batteries of questions dealing with prior work history, education, psychological "testing" questions, criminal history (I have access to patient records and financial information), and of course a huge number of questions dealing with my technical background and ability. I also had to demonstrate my knowledge of Windows and Linux based systems. Total time was a little over an hour.
The last driving job interview I had consisted of asking how long I had been driving, what kind of trucks and trailers I'd driven, commodities hauled, & my availability followed by a 10 minute road test. Total interview time was maybe 20 minutes.
