On I-70 in OH. ex.59 or 66 I forget the ts has a gravel lot anyway. When you park a team of 6 guys have a 3 card guessing game scam , they,ll very excited and ones yelling and paying 1 of the team guys 200.00 , then a guy says here,s 80 bucks you look lucky, play him. The scam is they give you money and you win, then you have to play with your cash and you lose. I laughed and said great scam fellas, now I,m going inside to crap. haha

I actually got took for that monte scam for a small bundle this morning in okc. Was tired and didn't expect a group of "drivers" to run it til I read about it. The only thing really hurt is my pride. Supposedly won off the other guys dough, then was told I couldn't produce n when I did they took off. That's fine, I will see them again, when I do the video camera will be running n when I go inside to "get cash" the fuzz will be on the way. Some lessons are learned the hard way.
Seems everyone has a angle n pretty much the same story. I used to think I was being christian, til one night at pilgrims pride in dallas I was single handedly expected to save the city every 2 mins, I literally had a line begging or with a "new" angle. I am sick of it really. Even if that bum is jesus, I guess I am going to hell. Rule of thumb, your money stays in your pocket, inless what your buying is in the other hand, its hard times but its every man for himself.
I had the one numerous times approach me back home in minnesota, guys in a white van selling a "deal" on stereo stuff. Guess that ones all over the place. You take a risk on them back of a truck deals, cb's, tv's, don't gamble what your not willing to lose.

Not so much a scam. The guy's trying to bypass the record industry. At least he's selling a product. Should have asked to listen to a few tracks. Maybe he was halfway decent?

A guy in a GA Pilot asked me if I had an extra Shower on my card. because, "I hate having to pay for a shower" (I can relate, but my card was empty at the time)

He turns right around and puts $60 in lotto machine and buys 3 $20 scratch & wins. (WTF?)

(Might not have been GA, though. But it WAS a $20 ticket)

    HFC Thanks this.

"hEY BRO, LISTEN TA' THIS, MAN! WAIT...WAIT, BEFORE YOU TELL ME TO "F OFF", YOU GOTTA HEAR DIS! LOOK BRO, I HAVE MA' LADY WIF ME AN' OUR NEWBORN, AND WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH GAS TA' MAKE IT TO _______. WE ONLY HAVE A QUARTER TANK LEFT! IF YOU CAN SPARE SOME DOLLAZ, THAT WOULD BE A GREAT, BIG HELP!"

dunno how many times i heard that same bullcrap scenario in the last few weeks. it was certainly more than a dozen times. each time it was a crackhead looking fool with his stupid looking woman, and no kid in the backseat. why would any person drive knowing they don't have enough to cover fuel to get to a certain place? also, notice how they drive around the lot rather than walk. if I had a quarter tank or less, i wouldn't be driving around the lot like a chicken running with its head cut off.

I grew up in north Jersey, and worked in NY a LOT. The worst times were back when Dinkins was mayor, and the city was almost over run by hookers, homeless, druggies, beggers, and squeegee men.

The most insistent and annoying were the guys cruising around in vans, selling these "amazing" speakers that their boss ordered for their bar. Seriously, I had about 4-5 different guys with the same line of BS about the speakers.

Best one was at the TA in Elkton, Md. Guy approached me and was "crying." Telling me that he had lost his job and his wife and two kids were right over there in the parking lot and they hadn't ate in two days. He asked me to give him 20 dollars so he could go to the store to buy some groceries.

My first thought was, "Hadn't ate in two days? Hell I complain if I haven't ate in two hours!"

I told him no I would not give him 20 dollars but he could meet me inside with his wife and kids and we would have a sit down meal in the restaurant. You four order whatever the hell you want off the menu and I guarantee you it will be way more than 20 dollars.

He looked at me confused and then said "Well thanks but I'll just take the 20 dollars."
With that, I told him to take a hike.

Seen this about a million times... Not sure why they congregate to truck-stops of all places.. I guess the general public really does think that we're all rich, huh?
