Much, much more bloat. Telemetry. Programs you didn't ask for. All of which talk to the internet behind your back.Timin770 and Star Rider Thank this.

I actually have an aviation band transceiver. I kept it in my flight bag as a backup. It still works. In the case of this other device, I just decided I did not want to put anything else on my PC.LtlAnonymous Thanks this.

My disdain for Windows started with 7. What a lot of people didn't realize was that when the nagging popups started for 10 , it was too late, 10 was already downloaded and ready to install. It was just waiting for you to click to install. Microsoft never asked to put it on my PC they just did it. Like you said "Telemetry",

If you do ever change your mind, the RTL-SDR dongle really is a neat product. I don’t have one myself, but I know many people who do. They’re very popular in the ham radio circles. With some additional free software, you can actually use it as a police scanner and decode the digital police signals, as long as they’re unencrypted. Got hooked on the Apple Ecosystem in 2010 and never looked back. Apple isn’t perfect but I’m certainly not complaining, well, occasionally maybe… lol

Speaking of complaining… I volunteered to be a testing dummy for a tablet solution for my company.
Now my truck has a darn android tablet in it… lol -
I decided today to make a change to my iPad data plan. I was paying a lot of money for data I no longer needed. Since I spend 99% of my tablet time at home using my home wifi I did not see the need to pay a premium to T-Mobile every month. So I used an old METRO sim card and discovered a way to add a plan from within the iPad with T-Mobile. I paid $10 for 5 GB of data with 152 days to use. I am saving a ton of cash now.

If you spend 99% of your iPad online time on Wi-Fi, why have a plan at all?
