    Fair weather driver.

    Only when the sun shines.

Never in the rain or snow. I am not a postman.

Never mind I must have been dreaming again.

Well, in the last three weeks, I've started my day anywhere from midnight to 0800. Sometimes it's the delivery schedule. Other times it's wanting to get through a busy metro area before or after rush hour. Mostly, it works. Sometimes, it doesn't.

I like to start my day by 0500. I can not stand to start later than 0800...I feel like I've missed half the day. But ya do whatcha gotta do.

Night (by choice and seniority)..Fuels/LNG. EVERYTHING is less crowded in LA at night. Although the "night denizens " of Los Angeles can be quite weird, it beats the traffic.

Grew up in the LA area....I'd drive nights there too if I could, that's for certain. But indeed some of the "characters" are just that...

When I was on a dedicated Wal-Mart account, all of our loads where delivered at night with a few in the afternoons. I loved it. Also helped with parking sometimes in congested truck stops. Never had to worry about trying to cram into a Pilot at 20:00. Also, usually don't have to worry about waiting too long for a shower either.

I guess you could call me a solar powered driver but only because my loads demand it. You see I very rarely get to haul something under 10 wide or 15 tall or 100 long so therefore it's daylight hours only for me. :biggrin_255::biggrin_255:

Definitely daytime because the whole sleeping during the day thing does not work for me and most people i would think.

But you can compromise----work into the 2nd shift. In other words, start in the middle of the the first shift---11am to 12pm or so and drive all the way to 2am. Traffic starts to ease up around 7pm and then you can start really moving.

That would be my ideal schedule. This makes it a little difficult finding a parking spot when you finally shut down at 2am AND the places to eat get severly limited at that time. This is why i tip good to anyone working at that hour. Still, i've always managed to eventually find a parking spot.

*That's because all the Steering-wheel holders are tucked in safely in their bunks at the truck stops, and off the ribbon.....
