Thanks! A carrier's safety scores are the first thing I look at when I try to evaluate whether or not I could be interested in that carrier. Of course, as a wannabe, it's not like I can have my pick. However, I'm finding that there is a sufficient number of carriers that measure up to some pretty high standards with respect to safety. At your suggestion, I looked at Interstate. Their safety scores, at least those that are available through Safestat, are excellent. I'll look into Interstate further. They might require experience, might not run in my area or might have some other hiring criteria that "includes me out" but I'll at least have them in mind for the future.
Update: I looked at their website. They do require 1 year verifiable OTR experience but if I had 1 year of experience I'd look at them pretty hard based on the other info I read.
What large, medium-large carriers still do a lot of 48 state dispatch?
