What Legal Weapons of Choice is allowed for our OTR drivers?

Oh how sweet the sound....the "Fart of God".

 

I've been to scales and let the inspector/patrolman know I had a loaded weapon. I was asked for my CCW and he took the weapon into "protective custody" until the inspection was over.. IT IS NOT ILLEGAL!!!!

And my permit is good in 13 other states. It's called reciprocity. Can I carry a loaded weapon in my truck everywhere? No. But I certainly can where I do 99% of my driving..

 

Thats why people get into trouble, It is a federal LAW however as long as U have a license to carry most states donnot enforce it. This same law is also the reason U have A cdl, it also contains a provision for states to lose federal funds for not enforcing helment laws,but ABATE takes better care of its members than OOIDA and other trucker represenatives!

I have asked OOIDA, hired a lawyer, asked the NRA, asked several DOT officers, etc...

There is no such law...never has been. Its a myth...

 

The only place firearms are mentioned in the regs is one about having firearms and ammo IN THE TRAILER with hazmat.

And that is where the myth stems from.
