Plus 16 hours (2 days) of Holiday pay. Still incredibly awesome pay. Deservedly so.

More companies NEED to pay drivers more and treat us with RESPECT !

Stand up and STOP working for #### pay and ####ty companies.

Companies are waking up to the realities of what the root causation of the driver shortage are and are beginning (FINALLY) to do something about it.

Drivers are also waking up are realizing that driving CPM is #### and that their TIME OFF is actually worth something and GUARDING company equipment for FREE (on their OFF TIME) is WRONG !

The Trucking and Waitressing are the only 2 industries that do NOT pay be the HOUR ! Why is that ? Should be illegal.

You can do something about this revolutionary change if you take a stand. It's up to YOU !

Not sure what ups freight requires however parcel where i am at wants two years safe driving. Other areas and hubs have different requirements. Some locations are hiring off the street, others you may need to work a seasonal or two periods.

Also when applying online make sure you look for key words in the description of the job for the branch of ups it is. Freight will be freight, truckload i believe is contracted work, and parcel usually just says tractor trailer driver.

Thanks I appreciate it, yeah I’m looking to do either LTL or parcel. Definitely don’t want to do OTR anymore. I only have 6 months experience so far but don’t mind working my way up. Definitely will be hard for me to only do a seasonal or part time gig because I’m he sole provider in my household with a wife and three kids.

Exactly I feel the same way, I definitely won’t let it take me 10 -20 years to figure out that’s its bull crap. I want to be paid for my time not by the load or per mile. $25 per hour should be minimum across the board.

Don't shoot yourself in the foot so soon. Its a long term game. Seasonal feeders is around 30/hr + in some areas. working 3-4 days a week got me close to what i was making running regional 4-5days a week.

I turned fortunate with the situation i was in. Company i signed on with out of school is highly flexible. Ended up going back to them in January after holiday peak was over. Still have an open door should i need to return for one reason or the other.

I had considered going part time after peak as well just to get the punches in so i could get promoted from within. The hours would have worked out to where i could work inside then go drive for my previous employer after. Was a dedicated relay. However the part time thing never materialized. Its all about planning.

In the words of my high school business teacher, “Proper planning prevents piss poor performance”

List your location and someone on here may be able to help you in the search.

Yeah you’re right I drive for TMC so atleast I come home on the weekends. I definitely would love to get the opportunity and stay with UPS until retirement. I’m 28 now and I live in Four Oaks Nc near Smithfield Nc and the raleigh Nc area. Im also not far from Fayetteville. Hell I put in for dockworker in Wilmington Nc. I’m willing to make the drive just to get an opportunity.
