That the best situation for you, not getting on with Schneider. There tanker division is a complete waste of time.

There are several otr tanker companies.
    Highway Transport
    Indian River Transport
    John & John
    And etc.

    Regional companies
    Nalco
    Dist Tech
    Veolia (suez)
    And etc.

    Local companies
    Fuel, propane, chemicals

    Gemini (loves)
    Ferrell Gas
    Univar
    Air Products
    And etc.

These are just a few. It mainly depends in where you live, and what you want to do.

Well, for starters...I'm a Schneider veteran.

I wasn't there for a few days, or a few weeks.

    Try almost 2 years.

Also -- in that time -- I talked with a number of drivers there who had been in their tanker group....but had transferred out of tanker into other fleets.

Based on what I saw while there.....and what I learned from talking with those other Schneider drivers.....to keep things polite....and suitable overall for general audiences -- I will simply refer you to the info in post #21, above.

They are hiring now. Prime isn't taking any owner ops for any division

What about Merrell? I did talk to some Schneider owner ops. They say driver and owner ops have no comparison on loads. Schneider has an all in price and self dispatch now. Makes me feel a little more comfortable. Still going to look around. I like the non Hazmat tanker work. Thanks for all the info people!

Are you saying Schneider's tanker O/Os are self-dispatched?

Yes! Both Hazmat and non Hazmat. Load rates show all in . Average to the power only is 2.20 on this system. You can use their board which is all in among other load boards. That's why I am so interested.

    RockinChair Thanks this.

I was interested until you told me that $2.20 a mile was the all-in rate, especially for HazMat.

I have been noticing a lot of Sherwin-Williams tankers as of late, I might apply for them next year if I can get one of their tanker jobs.

I can't find much better for all miles out there and power only. A lot of smoke and mirrors but no data to back it up. For me steady is better than high rates and sitting a lot. That's what I do now. I make really good per mile but I only average 6 months of work a year.

If they were paying $2.20 per mile +FSC + accessorials then that would be more reasonable, but still not what I would call a desirable rate.
