Moosetek, you are the quintessential MEGA purist. Do tell what the criteria to hit Mega status is.....

I'm being playful btw, not trying to offend, lol

But what is the point of this thread?

Find the lowest paying mega and then, what?
Show them a card with someone ( a no-one, actually) saying... explain yourself?

    Lame, to say the least.

Someone has to be lowest, and that fact will never change.
There will always be a lowest paying company.

Even if you get that company to raise the pay to be the next to lowest, then there will still be a lowest.
Get all the lowest to raise pay and it is an ever increasing lowest - which brings ever increasing prices to everything else out there as the pay rates increase.

As Trump would say... everyone knows this.

Why not go for the lowest paying minimum wage job while you're at it.
How about the lowest pay in every field, while you're at it.

Let's get everyone out there making an infinite amount of money per hour for doing whatever they do, no matter what it is or isn't.
Of course, that would make everything cost even more than an infinite amount - because perpetual motion is currently impossible.

There is no status-quo, because nothing stays the same - ever.
There will always be tiers upon tiers of economic status.
Change one, and the others adjust to follow suit.

And that is true no matter if it is capitalism, socialism or communism.
Or any mix or variants or new systems.

There is no equalism in life that will allow everyone to have the same things, experience the same things, achieve the same things.

Heck, even in the Biblical version of heaven - there are inequalities and tiers of being.

    You don't offend me.
And I can't tell you what the criteria is to become a mega. I just thought 500 was more a medium size company, not a mega.

And, Lucky12, I do like your style.

I'm sure many new drivers who are researching this company and put searches into Google would find this thread very helpful actually. I'm actually curious what the Megas are paying people myself, especially for new CDL grads. So I can compare it to what other OTR companies are offering experienced drivers with more than 2 years experience.

Yes CPM isn't everything but it certainly is important.

The big boys are serious about inflation and TBH it scares the pants off me.

The guy with the Milton Friedman ICON is possibly a Federal Reserve researcher. They have many a d they are on the warpath for inflation. Not saying he is but I bet you any amount of money they have been or are here, as well as all other industry trade forums.

I do not have the time as a trucker to figure out how to survive the inflation tsunami they are trying to unleash. Their message to savers and those interested in keeping money in the bank is to go **** yourself. They are the anti-Paul Volcker. I think they waited till he died to do this out of respect. He is rolling in his grave.

CPM is important, but in my opinion other things are even more important.

In this line of work home time is also important, especially for OTR drivers.
General working conditions, and how well the driver can manage their own loads and time.
Forced dispatch? That is a no-go in my opinion.

I am not a MEGA purist, I just know what I have experienced.
Also what I have read here from so many people.
So, I think I know a good thing when I see it.

Good thing for me, that is.

My company has seldom been the highest paying company (mega or otherwise), but there are other things that have kept me here.

It's the people I have worked with, the control over how I do things, getting home when I request it.
Granted, none of those have been absolutely perfect over the years. But for the most part they have been.

This thread is kinda funny. Everyone is always saying if companies paid more there would be no shortage, And that people work for slave wages. Now, here we are nobody can come up with all of these low paying slave companies that cause so much turnover. lol

I could shed some light on things, or maybe you are aware. But it would be gross negligence on my part, so let's just let sleeping dogs lie.

A bout of deflation, in the words of one Warren Buffett, would show whose swimming naked.

This has been covered up by the incessant printing of money by our betters.

    Tick tock.....

SNBC pays 40something. Like 43cpm starting or some garbage. This guy (for an unrelated dry van job) tried to recruit me today for 49cpm today and I was like “you’re barking up the wrong tree bud I make 60cpm and make 20/hr when sitting.” Garbage pay is everywhere. I saw a Marten trailer with “RUN spray painted on the driver side
