Everyone says you can make 80K a year. They're not saying you are going to make it, just saying it is somehow possible for one driver. That's how they get the new drivers into orientation and then a month later they're gone.
What mega companies have not kept up with pay increases?

The world is going nuts.
The lower end fretting about a few CPM and the minimum wage, the upper end trying to spend as much as possible without any possible way to pay for it.
A view from the outside would really be helpful to those folk.UnkownHorse and nredfor88 Thank this. -

Lowest paying company I knew of was called Carolina Cargo.
They took ex-cons, and gave them a second shot at life...in exchange for some of the lowest wages I've ever heard of.
Teaming for 10 cpm per man. Good Lord.
They've since been purchased and have changed their business model, but that was their pay as recently as 2016 or 17. -
I did a stint for PTL where it was forced team for 17 cpm each. They called it training and stuck 2 new hires on a team for 50,000 total miles (both drivers mileage contributed to the overall amount), but they'd dangle a contract in front of your nose. You want out of the team training? Sign the contract for 32 cpm for a year and suddenly you find yourself with a truck. If your partner signs first, he takes all his miles with him, and your training basically resets. It was absolutely horrible. Made me hate OTR so bad I became a school bus driver for 3 years and only just now came back to OTR work with Werner for 49 cpm with an 1100 a week minimum guarantee.

Cpm doesn't mean a thing when it's all a bit how much a driver is willing to put out. To answer the question, would Western Express be a contender? In 2010 when I started, I was getting 29 cpm. I guess that's the equivalent to 35 or 40 cpm now
