Teach them how to treat you........sound great in theory but it does not pay the bills. These bloodsuckers know it and they take full advantage of it!

Does trucking have any organized lobbyists beside unions? I am curious.

What representation does "Trucking" have in Washington? I better narrow my question, Do Truck Drivers have any representation in Washington?

I seriously doubt Conway is wanting to run him illegally. This would bite them on their butt like it did with Crete when their driver had a multiple fatality wreck in Florida.

    What is illegal?

    Guyslady,
Hey I have overheard a dispatcher not from Conway, tell his driver, take some pills, do what ever it takes to wake your butt up.
So I know how hard the push is in this industry.

Now one thing.......not sure I have said this.
This is NOT about the Conway Drivers. I do not want this thread to ever give the idea it's about them.

Particularly if YOU let them. I have left more than one job because I flatly would not do stuff that was totally out of line. I will admit to being in a bit different position than a young guy with mouths to feed. I was already retired and had a bit of a pension, plus my kids are long time grown and on their own.

But even as a young family man, you have to realize that it is YOUR back side on the line out there, if (actually when) problems arise. There are ways of getting your message through to your dispatcher that should leave no doubt in their mind where you stand, without getting yourself in trouble.

Just a hint here, don't begin the conversation with "NOW LOOKY HERE ARESHOLE!" That probably won't go over very well.:biggrin_25523:

OK, I now turn this thread back to Car, and the original point of the thread.

    Car Thanks this.

Wow what a thread ! I think if there is conway in your area that your husband could try to switch over to a linehaul job or ltl , either or he would be home everyday . Oh yeah I use to work for conway out of jessup,md. And dispatch did run u hard but there are other companies that pay like conway and with the benefits like them also but the work is not as stressfull ! Fedex being one of them , goodluck to you and your family.

Give me a frikken break! So what! Bet you won't hear that at Conway or any other major carrier. There is roadside drug testing going on. Not to mention random drug screens by the company, or when you are in a DOT reportable accident.

Yes there are companies out here that try and force you to run illegal. I can name 5 or 6 right away. Big ones and little ones. Some will even teach you how to "make you logs look legal." Doubt it's going to happen at Conway as they have the prepass and the Qualcom to rat them out.

I got on this thread to learn about Conway truck load. Not what I am getting.

You are like Chicken Little here. Whining and crying about your husband, his job, and his company. No real facts. When asked direct questions you don't answer them.

Unions don't represent drivers, they might claim to and the propaganda they push has that appearance. But deep down the unions represent themselves first. I have been sold out by 4 different unions whom I paid good money to represent me.

Truck drivers have no voice in Washington, no money behind them and we all know that money talks.... Most drivers don't have time to organize as they are out there running hard just to make ends meet.

If you don't like it, don't read it.

Just driver's like to beyatch, driver's wives need to from time to time too! Especially when we are new to the game.
