In the past I worked as a yard jockey and have enough experience to know that I don't want to pull a 5th wheel on public roads, nor do I want to do long hauls. I'm thinking about getting a CDL B with hazmat and tanker endorsements.
What type of jobs exist for these requirements? (No bus/passenger jobs).
I'm thinking dump truck/construction, beverage delivery, garbage/roll off, vacuum, fuel, plows, moving, anything else? I realize some might be seasonal.
Thanks.
What options exist for CDL B and home every night?

You pretty much hit them all. We have quite a bit of local LTL that rides around in B class straight trucks.

It sounds like a solution in search of a problem. What you need to do is figure out what you want to do. Either construction, crane operation, or whatever and then figure out what type of license you need for that.

Go ahead and get the A.
It will make you more valuable to the construction companies. When I came off the road, I took a job as a driver for a demolition company. I drove a dump truck mainly, but because I was their only driver with an A, I was also the guy bringing in the big machinery on an 8 axle rig. That meant more working hours for me.
Also, some of those dump truck gigs will require you to pull a trailer via pintle hook. You never know what they will need. -
Yes, get the cdl-A because many box trucks require A and having the A also is good for Class-B trucks.
Some fuel companies us a tankwagon and that required the CDL-A. -
