One of the things that go into a Drivers favor is (time). The longer the violation was in the past the better the choices are. However, driving while drunk has another element to it. I'm not going to get into a discussion about what causes alcoholism or who is and who is not. I just know that according to established reasoning there is NO known cure. I know many people that have gone years one even went over a decade on the wagon. Then mess it all up by returning to alcohol. This is why I am not too much in favor of (2nd) chances when it comes to driving drunk! Even the FMCSA allows for 2 chances spread out over 10 years. I'm sorry, I support 2nd chances for just about everything else. However, I can't with this. If I were making hiring decisions even if those DUIs were before the disqualifications set out by 383.51 I would really have to carefully look at you. Not saying I would or would not hire.

These days I would recommend looking at companies with a weekly guaranteed minimum, that is actually achievable. It really changes how I think about working. When I was on CPM your only choice is to go get as many miles as possible. With my guaranteed weekly paycheck, I still stress about delays because my appointments don't usually change, but I prefer weeks that are slow. I like doing a trip, then waiting a day, then another trip, etc, etc.
