I recently applied to attend central reefers training, i spoke with a recruiter earlier this morning and was shocked that i wasnt able to attend because this wonderful state of South Carolina has changed their CDL law a couple weeks ago, i must obtain my cdl from a local school here in south carolina.I had no knowledge of this at all! I dont have $3000-$5000 toattend a cdl school here and my credit isnt pretty to obtain a loan for that either. I understand some companies will finace a local school but from my understanding is that i must pay for the schooling first then they will reimburse me after i have worked for them x years(am i wrong?). So whats my options now?![]()
What other options do i have now...?

I live in SC, but have had my CDL since...carry the three...a bunch of states ago, residence-wise.
I know NC has several community college programs available...might check into SC CCs...if I hear of anything, I'll let you know.
Good luck! -
You might check out this link:

Google cdl training in sc or truck driving school in sc. There is a school in Lexington (just outside of Columbia) that trains for CR England.

Check out community college training and with their financial aid dept. You'd be surprised at the state and federal grants available.

Thanks guys! I've been researching heavily this entire week and I have found out about the wia funding and decided to take this route, hopefully this one works out!

I am confused. You already went to and graduated a school in another state?
