You guys forgot about all the freight brokers app. 90% of drivers using their platforms and click ‘ book now’ loads are also to blame for the cheap freight. More and more brokers are using the hideous online booking strategy and many new carriers fall into the trap, especially the non speaking english drivers that just sit there and book and haul cheap freight. Not realizing their cpm and working for peanuts. More and more brokers are starting the online book now junk because it’s working for them like magic! Good ol’ days of posting your truck and calling brokers are slowly fading away. It will only get worser in the next coming months. It’s a bloodbath battle of drivers competing against each other to book the cheapest load in fear of bankrupting.

Something I can guarantee. Handful of guys I would share my bank account number with. Everyone else. Take it with a gain of salt. I might tell you the truth, I might tell you the sun is purple. In the end, it's entertaining to watch. I know who has tried to under cut me. Acouple did, acouple got told to pound sand. I enjoy it more than they even know. I'll be here tomorrow, next week, next year. They can't all say that.

Very very true. I did get some feedback on this from the broker I work with at CHR. At one point they took a lot of the things they do away from them and used the app book now more. He said first of this year they started to give them everything back because of how bad the carriers are doing. So this may not be the be all end all I thought it would be.

"specially the non speaking English" this statement IT IS true and is NOT true as well. I talked to people from every race and color, all are the same. They have not idea on how to run this business, the have not respect for themselves nor this industry, no dignity, uneducated, undisciplined, sheep mentality. Unfortunately , their irresponsible actions are destroying this industry and destroying to all of us.
In 2022 I run I run a little bit over 20k miles for the whole year, because I refused to haul loads under 4 dollars per mile, I survived using my saving from the previous year. this year so far I run about 8k miles and I have not savings anymore , but I #### refused to haul cheap loads , because I don't think is fair for me, my family and to all of you guys , to bend my knees and accept what brokers want to pay. I #### rather go out of business. To many selfish truck drivers MFrs here. I'm Spanish speaker as my first language.

    Hey driver,
English is my second language as well.
I bought my truck and trailer brand new in 2020. It’s paid off and I have no problem with saying “ NO TO CHEAP FREIGHT” unfortunately not many have that choice or are just plain cheap haulers. I do blame the Craigslist truck buyers that bought clunkers for 10-15k and are in this business thinking they know it all! I dropped my jaw many times at loading docks when i shared my ratecon with other drivers and realized it’s the clunkers that are destroying this industry. The new people that got into it at the wrong time that thought they would get rich overnight. It’s very sad that people have to book dollar a mile loads and I don’t rrally feel sorry for them. Those are the people that get a flat tire and can’t even afford it. Happy trucking, driver! Stay strong out there and ride it thru

    So how long
have you been an O/O? $4.00 freight has never been the norm (unless pulling specialized) rates got crazy during the pandemic, but the days of $4.00 to $6.00 freight are gone, and will never come back.

So keep sitting thinking you’re making a difference, you’re not. Someone will continue to haul the freight at these rates, and will be profitable doing it.

I have been an owner operator for 19 years. The pandemic rates won’t be back i know that. However, dollar a mile loads and some change are pure broker abuse loads. I refuse to haul cheap and yes I will sit back and enjoy my life at home with family, driver! That “someone will continue to haul those as you mentioned above” can have them and run their equipment to death. Did anyone think about the rainy days? Guess not. Economy sucks we all get that but don’t fall into the broker scam “ I’m all in” either! There’s still money out there driver. Let that load sit a little and you will see the difference. Problem is they don’t sit over 1 minute on the board because of the desperate new carriers that will book the first load they see at whatever rate it’s posted.

Theres a big difference between the $4/mile and the dirt cheap $1/mile. I dont think anyone is going to fault you for going for the $2-3 range, just watch your average rate.

Im an O/O since 2013. I did not go to any school to get my CDL, I've never drive for anyone other than myself. Im just guessing here, that could be the reason that before I started in this business I educated myself , and I don't think like an employee , I don't think like a driver.
I learned that we, the truck drivers are ESSENTIAL in this society, therefore we don't and we shouldn't play the rule of "supply and demand" if we stop thinking the way you think and we have a little bit of respect for what we do , then we park our trucks for few days and you will see the results. The rule "supply and demand" will go out of your window.
"$4.00 freight has never been a norm" are you Fng serious ???? $6.00 diesel has ever been a norm???? $179.00 hr to repair your truck has ever been a norm??? , parts that you paid $ 300 2 years ago , now you pay $600.00 or more , is this a norm???? I can't FNG believe there is people like you in this industry. im sorry bro.
