If you lose your current job and become desperate for cash that will help you succeed in trucking.

Thanks, it sounds like you’re in a great situation after a rocky start. Also cool that you kept up with your classmates.

50% is high to me too in terms of guys that didn’t make it.

Yep. It’d also create pressure to succeed cause what am I going to do if I can’t do this.

I’m so sick of constant anxiety and stress.

Every day of my life right now. Even weekends.

I've seen basically retarded people drive just fine, back just fine, and not hit anything.

It's really up to you, like others have said. The skills aren't especially difficult, the lifestyle however is.

Lets see, back in 70,s went down to dmv, passed the written, borrowed a truck for road test and bought a truck and went a few years, got bored and turned into a lineman building systems for a few years, started to slow down so went back to trucking again and had to do a refresher course and another few years, looked at the money being made and off to another fine adventure until getting homesick for the road so back at it again for another decade. Still not worth it so off to another grand adventure and then another round of trucking which stopped when I found they do not like thinkers and workers so going to school now being mostly retired. Was thinking of doing it part time just for fun until that wreck in Denver, would rather not now.

Lol, for me it was because of my mother in-law coming to my house and staying too long..

The older she gets the longer she stays..6 months last time..

Wait until you develop the mindset of "Failure is not an option"
Will bring out a drive you never knew you had...
Some people just have it. Others it might be they're short on money and need to provide food/house for kids/wife. Or whatever other scenario.

I think the alone part I could handle better than most. I’m a loner by nature. I eat lunch alone at my job now and don’t have a lot of friends.

Give me my smartphone and I can stay occupied no problem. I think I could also handle and thrive on the travel aspect and lack of boss looking over your shoulder aspect of it.

The only aspect I don’t know is the skills aspect (which I’d probably be ok on that honestly) and the ‘what if something happens at home’ aspect. I fear my wife wouldn’t be able to take care of a lot things that come up.

That’s really low and the kind of thing that makes you think twice.
