On the fuel pump just dont move em to far and you should be fine i think theres a vid on it but running over 1500 rpm is not good it wears on the engine harder. Just dont pull below 1300 for long times and it wont have a issue now on a mountain is a different story then higher rpm is needed so between 1500 and 1700 is good so lets say 1600 rpm trick is to the spot between to high and too low and between 1300 and 1500 is not lugging ive had multipul people say that this way works fine and gets good mpg and its been proven

Ive been in trucks since i was 5 ok cant help my age heck like the one guy we had as a boss said he could be talking to the farmer he would go back and the milk was already loaded sorts the same thing with me and my dad we ran it as team except i cant drive but i watched aksed questions watched the tach and what rpm he shift and ran it at and learned and i did that for 5 years now were in new trucks that pull crappy and get worse mpg. Also just so ya know my dad has 25 years of experience and is a truck driver training school lead instructor so i have a good teacher also i respect you because you have had many years of experience but we simple disagree on how the trucks should be run that simple also this is way off corse of what the thread is about... then again what do you know your all worn out lmao sorry i had to make that joke lol have a good day man
I dont know it all but i do know some things

Look I was raised in a #### ol Pete. We had 20. I was changing brakes, tires, and doing motor work at 13. I overhauled my first B model CAT when I was 16. I thought when I bought my first truck I was a smart sum #####. I found real quick how #### dumb I was. When I quit listening Dad quit talking. #### got real. Finally broke with a blown engine I went to him for help. It was made plain pay attention or that's it. You silly little ####### I dont care how dumb you are, but my daughter in law and 3 grandchildren need someone to count on. 18 months later to the day I bought my first brand new 379. It was a 98 model.

None of us know it all, you have heard just enough to start asking questions. You started this thread which makes me think you have being an O/O in mind. If your not gonna try to learn from it it's a wasted effort and to be honest I ain't into just arguing. So if you already have all the answers why ask the question. If you have come to enlighten us well your spreading old news, and wrong information.

I am listening im just saying about how it was driven thats was not what the thread was about i just wanted to know what everybody else liked and i had to explain that cats do get good mpg when driven right... you are far more expierenced than me but i just said how we have done it and that it has worked great.
The reason i said what i said is cause i was listening to the old guy with 25 years of experience who had drive the older rigs and knew how they should be run anything after 1980 and has 425+ hp doesnt need more that 1500 rpm ON FLAT GROUND ive had multipul people say this BUT this is not what the thread is about and please dont continue this debate i dont like to argue either lets just agree to disagree deal. Im gonna take my dads advice and not get a loan to buy a truck learn to work on em and fix it myself im listening to him... lets just get off of this please im not gonna go off on my own lol im gonna have my old man there to help me im still listening and asking questions to him and im still learning and hes given me much advice on starting a company and me and him both agree that a multi truck company would be better than staying small again not what this threads about so im done with this ok
