Before I would even get interested they'd have to answer this, Do you have any drivers that retire from your company?

    Wargames Thanks this.

Do you mean, like drivers that have been satisfied well enough to stay their whole career?

Yes, a company that cares for the drivers and doesn't fire them at a drop of a dime. It's just an indicator of the turnover rate. If you find a company with a high turnover rate there's a reason for it. And it's not good on the drivers part.

I asked the question when the Werner rep cam today. He quoted how many drivers had 1 million miles, how many had 5 million etc...

He said the turnover rate was 140%!

Also tuition reimbursement was $100 a month, no year end payout. My tuition for a 4 week course was $4100. So I would need to stay four+ years to get that back.

I asked the instructor his personal opinion, "it is a good starter job. But if you stay longer than a year you are losing money."

Training was 275 hours. $350 a week during that. Two weeks on , then a week off, paid, then another two weeks, plus or minus...

or run straight through and get a $500 bonus at the end.

It was my first contact with a company. I plan to talk to many more... hehehehe.

    What I used to ask......

    How much per mile?

    How many miles per week?

How fast is truck set at?

Rider program? (no kids at home)

True "nationwide", or will they hang you out on east coast with no "west" loads??

What if I don't go Canada/Mexico ? (they can't LEGALLY require you to go)

How often can I get home ?? (less important)

    But that's just me.
ALL I care about is making money out there.

The rest of the "amenities" is just gravy.

Your followup question should be...why such a high turnover rate?

Of course, the recruiter being a salesman, had his answers. Like when a driver becomes a trainer, that counts as an empty single driver truck seat etc...

and something like, at that time they had a 70% hire back because employees found "there was no place better"

Don't quote me exactly, I don't have my notes here.
