What questions to ask the companies hiring new drivers

What equipment do they have? How old is it on average?
average length of haul?
pay? Cents per mile? What is their CPM cap? Benefits?
Do the trucks have APU's?
WHERE do they haul? do they do a lot of New York City? Northeast?
Percentage of Live load to preloaded? Live unload to Drop and hook?
what is their hometime policy?
can you have pets/friends/family on the truck? (AKA Rider policy)
What do they pay for breakdown pay? Shag pay? Layover pay?
Where are their terminals?
How often do they get freight near your home?
Can you INSTALL an inverter?
When do they pay? How do you submit your bills? (e.g. transflo, trippak, etc)
do they pay tolls? Do they have EZ-Pass, Pike Pass, PREPASS?

EVERY driver has different things that are important to him, so you need to tailor the questions to what is most important to you.
