Long haul trucking is dead. We just haven't set the time for the service but the morning process has begun for many.
How is an industry going to react that promotes "Better Miles" with ever increasing sign-on bonuses? -
yeah, but you know a joker wont run to ct, nj or ny state -
Long haul were the loads I loved the most. Got to sit in the seat and drive a while. I checked with the company I used to work for, they are starting out with less CPM that when I started with them in '89. I don't know how they are getting drivers with that kind of pay. They have the freight though. Quantity of freight on shorter runs will keep your head above water, but sooner or later it will bite you if you aren't careful.Last edited: Apr 18, 2014

Nevermind......

If you are a mileage based driver then sure, but when it comes to revenue and profit per mile then the shorter runs will pay you better. FAR better.
It is a new world order. -
My average length on the load I like the most is 30 miles...... Do 3-4 rounds, go home nice.....

I think I could get used to something like that pretty quickly. I am the versital type. It is nice to get out west or south now and then though.
