Well, I can tell you that on my current Pete mx13 455hp, at 65mph in 13th top gear @1300rpm I run WAY cooler than if I drop a gear to 12th @1600rpm... and a noticeable drop in fuel mileage and increase in noise. Not only a change in oil temp., but a much higher coolant temp as well. So for me... 1600rpm + of continuous running does NOT work . I recently (2-3 days ago), tried this.
What rpm at 65mph ???

It takes more boost and intern more heat is produced trying to keep up speed. At 1600 i use less boost and hardly have to push on the pedal to keep rolling.
