Why is Swift such a bad company? going to be heading to there school in 2 weeks. Should I not go? Have done a lot of research and they seem like the best option for me.

Everyone has a different opinion about the starter companies. My advice to you is find a company that meets your needs. Most companies require between three and six months for dedicated runs. This is so you can prove yourself to them. See if you can get financing to attend a non-company sponsored training. You have other options in terms of choosing your employer. My top choices based upon where you live would be:

Maverick (if you can do flatbed)
    WEL
    Conway
    Roehl

    KH

Then do what I did. I live in Southern Indiana and went to Roadmaster Driver's School in Indianapolis. If you work with them, you can arrange paying zero down, and most trucking companies have a reimbursement program so you won't need $1000 up front. While you're in school, apply to Roehl, Schneider, and who ever else you're considering, and you will have a job by the time you graduate with your CDL-A if you don't procrastinate submitting your applications in your 1st week of class.

Think about FFE driver academey, just throwing that out there. Free training if you stay with them for a year and they dont take anything out of your check unless you leave within that time.

Then do what I did. Go to Roadmaster Drivers School in Indianapolis. You can arrange to pay nothing down. Fill out applications for all the companies you're interested in working for, and by the time you've completed class, you will have a job. Problem solved.
