What services would owner operators or lease operators be interested in paying someone else to do if you had the choice? What kind of rate would you be willing to pay for those services? If the rates are right, would it be worth it to you to have someone else do certain things for you?

I'm curious to see if there is a market for a trucker's service for record keeping, etc.

Keep it clean too gang! :biggrin_25525:

Paperwork , I need to focus on driving only , not all that BS that everyone else wants me to keep track of. Using GPS somehow to report miles in each state, some one to call a shipper or receiver for directions (lots of people at ship n receiving dont have a clue ) for Big Rigs and then call trucker and guide them in real time. Double checking on where parking or staging is available for next day delivery (miles or hrs away)... just a few things to start

Some very interesting thoughts there. Some of that is stuff I have actually done for my hubby when he's on the road.

I see tons of advertising for "truckers services", usually tax/bookeeping/permits etc. Is that what you're thinking of ? Or something in the dispatch vein ?

I'm actually open to ideas. Rather not get into the dispatching thing but open for any other ideas. Definitely can handle the bookkeeping end of things. Permits I have no experience with.

I am also pretty handy at researching things and putting together start up ideas and plans.

Dispatch/brokering is something that takes more $$ than I have to do things the right way. I looked into becoming a broker a couple of years ago, and for me to do things the way I really want to, would take a big chunk of change.

If you were closer to me I would pay to have all my receipts entered into my Database. (For tax purposes)

That's the other part of this that I am thinking on. Email and scanners are wonderful tools.

what does distance have anything to do with that? My tax guy is half way across the country, doesn't hurt a thing
