Must be a Houston prob ...
But my settlement comes through Houston which is the US headquarters

    I don't dispute you ...

I'm not gonna get in a pissing contest over it

All I can tell you is this

I do not have a payroll issue at trimac

If 30/38 checks were bad that's almost 1 year if you figure a year on 52 weeks
That's allot of wrong accounting on some part
As for a negative pay check I can't see as to how you could go negative as a company driver ... I just don't understand how they could charge you to drive the truck , unless you are talking about

    1. Taxes
    2. Insurance
    3. 401
And even then I'd have to wonder on how a COMPANY driver could go negative if as you stated you worked all days asked ,

    I just don't understand it ... That's all

I don't go neg except 1 week here and it was my fault I took the week off but I'm an IC with weekly expenses for business / insurance ... Etc

Company side neg - just throws me for a loop

Your spot on about food grade I researched the heck out of food grade before getting off the road...

Enterprise looked about the best on the hazmat side couldn't find anything bad really seemed like a top notch outfit...

Altom was another good one never really found anything bad in my searches, what I did find was just petty stuff in regards to the shiny trucks they drive not sure why people went there, jealous I guess...No idea on the pay scale website didn't list one last I checked..They do require like two years verified tank last I knew which you should be ok there..

Maybe look into Heniff also.....Another company I had a lengthy conversation with came away really impressed after chatting w/safety for almost 45 mins...They require previous tank so that killed it for me..

Venezia looked good but I didn't like the idea of regional hazmat they do food grade also I'm pretty sure...Overall they seemed like a good outfit, nice people, and pretty good bennies/pay scale...

With prevoius tank you should be able to find something, good luck !!

Must be a Houston prob ...
But my settlement comes through Houston which is the US headquarters

Thank you sir and FYI Trimac, Yes the corporation is in Houston on JFK BLVD and 307 is located Pasadena, Tx. which is the training center and my terminal. These two are about 60 miles apart.

Your settlement comes from your girl in your terminal who does your billing. Once your paperwork is submitted to her and is rated and approved it goes to Houston ( not the paperwork, the numbers) for payment....to you.

My negative issue was a new business issue. The gal saw the large numbers due me and said no way, not a company hand , not possible and defaulted to no pay until approved. Emails were sent and people were called but not in time for cutoff so...no pay. (They did offer to loan me my check though ) minus 30% for taxes etc.
Do not accept this offer driver, trust me. It will lead to weeks of payroll confusion. The amount you get will be taken back next check no question, it's automatic whether or not the settlement is correct.

The rest? I charge it off to under staffing and laziness at my terminal. One other issue is they pay the truck, not the driver, so when I changed trucks with someone else, he got my money.

Key point: They lost a good driver over this.....as much as they whined and cried about driver shortages they still did nothing to fix the problem. That amazes me.

And when you leave, and you will one day, all services you have like direct deposit etc. will stop on that day. Your final check will be cut manual in Houston and mailed to your terminal whom will re-approve it and mail it to you.

It's greener pastures for me and good luck to you........

    Like I said ...

Not getting in a pussing contest I'm
Not a company driver ... But honestly have never heard of such a problem which persisted as long ...

    Never the less ...

Trimac is a good company ,
Personally .. I have no pay issues there

I do have one last question though cause I have heard of some late pay once or twice but nothing to the scale your talking about from 2-3 drivers

Did you scan your bills into the system after each load ?
    Or
Hold them and turn them in upon return to your terminal ?

Just a question ... The guys I heard the small issues from was due to HOLDING paper work and not scanning in via trans Flo ... By scanning in you have a printable copy via the transflo website ...and the Trimac bar code goes 3 places

    1. Your terminal
    2. Calgory Alberta ( trimac corporate )
    3. Houston TX ( trimac US Corporate )

Also as an IC we have a payroll person we can discuss any pay problem or deductions with located at your terminal at 307 up stairs .. Personally I have never had to use that avenue ..but they have tons of support

Wish you the best and sorry you had a bad experience but to be honest if you poll drivers both IC and Company alike ... You will see my facts are correct and what happened to you Chaulpa was a fluke and not a basis of bashing and entire company ... I would ask you as others have on here

Scan those pay sheets in on this thread ... Mark out your pertinent info such as SSN : Bank : etc I personally find it hard to swallow but again proof is in the pudding ... You should have 30 bad checks out of 38 that's what I don't get and all of that can't be based off of

    1. New biz
    2. Truck numbers
    3. Pay clerk

Not for that long I would think you handled it waaaaay before that or I know I would have if it had been me ...

Best of luck to you again sorry for your hurdles at trimac

He's right, don't base your entire decision on my experience. I spoke to several drivers at my terminal and 90% of them had some sort of issue with payroll but not as extreme.

I'm sure I said elsewhere that for drivers whom do the same thing, everyday, in the same equipment, everyday then their pay way mostly correct. Nothing they couldn't live with.........for the moment. Some don't look.

And, I spoke to some Beaumont drivers while in their area, and they had no issues which lead me back to my clerk.

The point of my op and this board is to share experience and knowledge. There are many a happy clam at Trimac. The senior man at 307 has 25 years company and his dad did 40 with DSI / Trimac. It works for them.

I simply have no tolerance for pay issues. I work hard for my money and I want every penny due me when it's due, without excuse. Not too much to ask by anyones standard.

If all you are looking at is the purty truck, then you need to look underneath, coal cobb and altom trucks are identical right down to hydraulic fittings. Cobb will run you empty and force loads that pay 70 cents gross on you , and don't you dare put a scratch on their trucks, you will pay 4 times the actual cost to repair it. Look closely at the contract and note that they have a specific state and county you have to SUE them in! Just two companies that are one, check the line at the court house.

I personally know a Plains Night Driver, and he is on course to hit $109K his first year. That is hard to beat without a degree.

Thanks for all the info ya'll. I have applied to a co that pulls pneumatics hauling frac sand with very nice peterbilt equipment. If not hired I'm lookin at enterprise first and then service transport co. That was good info on coal city cobb, would not have even thought of such-they sound devious and it might smell like a chicken house.....spoke with some of the altom drivers an they said altom had changed a lot this year and are goin to way more owner ops an cuttin back on co trucks and miles. Sounds like all co's have their problems, drivers just have to choose what problems an quirks they want to tolerate or put up with. As long as your makin good money that's easier to do. Just waiting now on preferred materials to hire me,if not, enterprise might be on the horizon.
