Well my truck sat for 10 days unplugged and it started up fine in -10c and when I left it at the yard it was -22c. Don't use fuel additives either...

Surely he didn't mean 8,000. That would be off the scale in my Cascadia.

I'm sure he meant 800 but I thought it was funny to make a poke in any case. ;-)

I drive mostly northern.. MT, SD, ND, to MI, etc. I never idle at night. I never use fuel additives. I have no apu, no bunk heater. I drive an 07 Volvo with Cummins engine. #2 diesel from wherever!

Many times, the nights have dropped to low teens or single digits. I usually leave at 3-4am. Truck always starts and drives no problem.

Only time it was slow to start, is when I left my truck from Dec 21-Jan3rd in our yard. I had plugged it in, but someone stole my cord at somepoint. It was below freeing but over 20F when I started.. It was slow to fire, but fired OK.

Again, whether or not your truck can start is irrelevant.

When did you say starting the truck is irrelevant? Guess I missed it. I thought the discussion was about when you need to idle? My point was that obviously 20F isn't necessary for many people. I only worry if it goes below 0F. And my post was an example of why I don't worry.
