It is totally up to you... run faster and make it home on time or sit till you get a recap. If you burn up your 70 all the time, then what are you logging on line 4 that could be moved to line 1 maybe?
What the ELD mandate has taught me so far

as I stated in my original post I ran my logs right down to the seconds to try and gleen any legal time I can to move it to line 1.
It just doesn't work.
I suppose I could cheat the elogs and pretend that part of my load time I was on a break but that wouldn't be legal.
I wonder how the elogs is going to handle it when people cheat on there on duty time ?
The elogs is mandated to stop cheating right?wore out Thanks this. -

It isn't ideal but instead of running 63-64 and running out of hours an hour from home why not drive 55 and save even more fuel, maybe drive a few hours less each day and have a more leisurely pace and break it up. Instead of driving 11 one day and one the next drive 6 each day.

The other options is to farm the work out if it is only a couple times a year. -
I am not some company driver wining about home time.
My trucking work is seasonal and I run every two weeks in the spring and fall moving the same personal owner cars back and forth.
These are the same people I have done this for for the last twenty years.
When I return from my 70 hr week I get up the next day and work another 50 hrs or so in my transmission and general repair shop, auto dealership, 24hr towing, fisher snow plow dealer and uhaul dealership.
So as you can see being stuck an hour or two from home out of hours will be a major problem for me.HopeOverMope Thanks this. -
Another option is to park a personal vehicle two hours away from home and park the truck there. Drive home and go get the truck later. Or catch a shuttle, or some such.
Just about any body else would end up making an honest mistake, by moving some unloading time to the sleeper line. Create a split sleeper scenario so you could finish the run with a 2 hr break.Hulld Thanks this.
