Things that helped me was learning that in trucking things are going to go wrong somehow weather it's the 4 wheelers or other truck, shippers or receivers, dispatchers, etc....there is always something that is going to mess with your program so dont lose your cool, think things through instead of flying off the handle. Dont be afraid to move forward and try new things. I was reluctant to move from my job of 16 years to a job that I thought might be better but went back and forth in my mind because I would have lost all of my seniority and some benefits that the newer drivers did not receive but....when I did leave, it was well worth it. Treat people (for the most part) with respect and dont be a dick.

1. WHITE men dont really dance (club)
2. I, a white man, do dance, ballroom dance, if my truck aint a large car, its because im allergic to extra lights -
It's not a large car until you're floating valves at triple digits...
The only reason I'm still in the game and the thing that "improved" my experience is being able to sit for months if I want to. -
I was gonna be a porn star until trucking called and figured the competition from @Catmando would be stiff .

For me is hourly pay. Yes I know I'm likely not making any more money at the end of the week, but my stress level is so much less.
For example I'm no longer getting annoyed at the dock worker that has two gears. Off and snails pace. If it takes 2.5 hours to load the truck, that just means overtime for me. I don't care anymore.nredfor88, downplay, JoeyJunk and 1 other person Thank this.
