There are a few different recruiters coming to the school I am attending. What questions OTHER THAN THE OBVIOUS would be good to ask? OR does it even matter what they say? We are having May Trucking, Swift, Werner, and maybe Schneider.
What to ask of a recruter

"When do I get my sunshine injection in my arse and will that tingly feeling around my neither region last til I get out of orientation?"
-
Spend a whole day searching this forum, ignore some of it. And you'll know who you want to work for.
-
"How do you sleep at night after lying to drivers all day long?"
After they choke on that, ask:
"What is the atmosphere like working for a company that has more than 100% turnover?"
"Why does your company have over 100% turnover?"
"How does the high turnover reflect on the job you do everyday?"
Then ask the very serious question:
"After screwing me over, will you respect me in the morning?" -
Where can I find the turn over rate for trucking companies? I would happily ask about that if I have the actual information. Not just running my mouth without the facts. I was just asking if there were any questions that perhaps experienced drivers like you wished they would have asked in the beginning. I know the pay is crappy at first and Im at the bottom of the totem pole. Thats a given. What do they have to lie about?

google 'truckload turnover' - remember numbers are self reported and underestimated but it should be surprising that truckload is happy with turnover numbers around 100%. -
Maybe ask what kind of training do you offer, team or side by side. I went with May and liked their approach to training, side by side. Stayed with them for a year and half until I found a local driving job.

Calregon Thanks this. -
Ask what is the safety bonus is per mile. Ask what the per mile rate is and dont let them give u bull crap about new drivers should earn 10 cents a mile less and ask if your per mile rate goes up after your probation period. Ask how long the training is. I was a trainer for weirner your training period is based on how your trainer feels your doing and when your ready to go on your own it could be 2 3 4 5 6 weeks. Ask about your medical benefits. Ask how many miles do they expect u to run a week how long your on the road. Dont pretend that your single and will live out of your truck u will soon learn u will need to keep in touch with family and friends for support and sanity.

Not sure what kind of question you were thinking of but mine would involve his head and his rear end meeting at some point and one being shoved inside the other.
Followed up by how? How often? Does it hurt? And does your boss when he does it to him? Followed of course with, how? How often? Does it hurt? -
Depends on the individual; all I personally am interested in is pay/benefits/APU/solo driving only. Any other questions are just clutter.
