never heard of a trainer sleeping in the bunk while you drive. would seem to me that defeats the purpose of training.

try foxfi on the android market. i have verizon unlimited data, text and talk. when you run foxfi it will allow you to tether to your laptop wirelessly. verizons hot spot program will prompt you to configure it, just ignore it and dont mess with the settings. been doing this for a year and no problems and no charges on my bill.

Where am I off to you ask, home this week again. Was suppose to start Hills Brothers out of Omaha today but bus got cancelled. So im going to try again for the second time next Sunday.Hopefully nothing happens.Hills only has orientation once a week because its 4 days long and has it every Monday.Nine other drivers didn't show up today either. One did because he took his vehicle.

Smartphones and trucking DON'T mix. Don't care HOW careful you are, that $700.00 IPhone eventually is going to kiss the pavement. I would recommend a simple flip-phone. But if you must have 24-7 connectivity and Facebook access, I would get a Gorilla Case (full enclosure) And I guarantee a simple cheap flip phone is cheaper to replace when you leave it in the truck stop restaurant or shower when you are dead tired....

Hey, hope that bus ride works out for you this weekend! Kick some butt and keep us posted! I can tell you first hand after 34 hours on the bus this week that even tho it seems like that dog will never get you to your destination, it will. I'll finish orientation in a few days and likely be right back on the Greyhound to meet my mentor. Dreading that, but excited at the same time. Let us know how it goes pattyj! And good luck!

PattyJ, did you get the job?
Are you going with Hills Brothers?
    Are they Dry Van Company?
You could make more money with Flatbed and it is not that hard...

    pattyj and Skydivedavec Thank this.

I learned long ago not to take a bus hundreds of miles from home.My bus ride will be 1 hr and 30 minutes.Spose to be nice tomorrow so no reason for cancelling the busses.I think 2 weeks in a row of is more then enough, lol. The recruiter sure is a sweet lady, actually everyone ive talked to at Hills is real nice.
