I have seen the packing list for students who are about to go out with a trainer but that's not my situation yet. I am about to leave (alot sooner than I thought) for school and orientation. I will, however, be coming home before I go out with my boyfriend for training. So what I am wondering is, what do I need to bring for school and orientation? I will be staying at the college dorms and have never stayed in a dorm before so don't know what I will need for that.
What to bring to school/orientation?

Here are some things I had to get after I got to Crowder.
1. Bed sheets (Twin)
2. enough quarters to get you thru 5 weeks work of laundry. 50 cents for each machine.
3. A car, if you can bring one it is really worth it. It is quite a hike to the chow hall and class.
4. 1 weeks worth of clothes, at least.
5. Shower stuff
6. a bag of some sort to carry the book and logs they give you
7. Flip flops for the showers.
Those are really the big things I can think of. If there arent any other girls in your class staying on the campus then you will get your own room, the guys will be a few doors down. They have Dish TV in the dorms so that is nice on the weekends when there is no class. Other then that it is pretty boring around here. Oh and if you have a lap top they have free internet access. Just ask the guys who are already here what the password is.
Have fun in school. -
Yeah, in school, get a folder of some sort for your paperwork to take to class daily. You don't need to take your bedsheets/laundry etc, right ? And get some work gloves when you are driving/pre.tripping etc.

I say bring 2 folders: one for anything school related, and then the other one for anything work related. Oh and bring extra pens or pencils because you _know_ there will be at least one other person who forgot to bring one.
A small yet sturdy ruler (for doing paper logs) Like one of those that's 6-8 inches long. You'll get one in class but if they're like the ones I've gotten recently, they're really flimsy. I like a nice sturdy ruler. Plus you can whack people with it who are nodding off in class. or poke if you don't want to leave a mark. -

Yeah, when you get anywhere near a truck, you will get dirty.

How about a raincoat, or similar?
