Yup, I’m just a company driver but my company buys a lot of new freight liners. Seen a lot of under 100k miles tractors with cruise control issues that goes in multiple times other sensors going bad, even a fifth wheel plate completely come off with two trailers luckily nobody was around but a state trooper. Driver was lucky.

So you got this brand new truck. Oh it’s under warranty. Well the line you have to wait just to get a dealer to look at it and fix it is another factor. That’s down time. Truckers are paid by the mile last I heard. Downtime can make a business go under quick. With that 150k you could buy two solid trucks for under 30k-40k. Have a back up truck. No down time if ones in the shop. Even if one grenades one gonna keep making you money.

Interesting concept having a spare truck. But Cascadias are our bread and butter and make us a lot of money. Every wrench I talk to tells me the driver is about 75% of how a truck performs.

Company drivers with the " F it. It's not my problem" attitude, tend to create a lot of them.

That is true owners take pride in what they got. Just like a homeowner vs renter. But I’ve seen these problems with good drivers who take care of the company trucks. But I’ve seen guys gunning the throttle in the yard or every stoplight cause they got to hurry and get home so they sit on the recliner. They have a bad attitude and don’t care cause the company out to get them. Lol.

There are no good trucks for that price range.

I only want $25K for my Cascadia and it's well worth it.

One my old companies bought two KW’s from Melton back 10 years ago. They bought them for 16k a piece around 2009. They were nice trucks also. I see those tractors still on the road. They aren’t a big fleet and I drive by their yard everyday. The owner pays cash for everything even his property. He’s pretty successful. There’s a reason. You got to look harder.

Used cascadias are always cheap. They're uncomfortable, they need a new DPF one box at 500,000 miles, and they suffer from broken springs on the drive axles due to a poor design. An all around bad truck to own used. I paid an extra 10k to get a Paccar, and was willing to pay up to 25k more for a Paccar with a Cummins.

If there is a Paccar for that price with less than 500k I'll buy it today, and resell it tomorrow for 55k.

Mine already has a new OneBox. New clutch, so you do like the back 1/3 of the inframe when you do that, radiator. It's a Cummins.

When I bought it everyone told me I would fail. Here we are 4 years later. Now I have 4 trucks. All with APU's. One is a spare. Couple dollars in the bank. Just bought a $500K house.

    Cascadias are bad.
