Then you get arrested for threatening someone. And there's still no police report made on the wreck.TROOPER to TRUCKER Thanks this.
-
I have found they respond, but Don't investigate crashes on private property. They do what commonly referred to as an information exchange on their departmental form.Hulld Thanks this.

Nope. I've been through this several times. Most recently last month in Oregon. Cops said it happens on private property. Nothing they can do. A friend about a week earlier forgot the state got the same response. When he called. The cops said they go through this about 10x a week at the truckstop he was at and they couldn't help him.

The times I have called personally and also some of my other drivers all get the same response. They will not even show up on private property.

I have been back into in Georgia, and Maryland. Both times the police responded and did an information exchangeshooter19802003 Thanks this.

I imagine it has to do with state law and what state you are in. I try really hard not to go that far east.ProfessionalNoticer Thanks this.

Me too but I live here.... lol

Plus there are states like Michigan that even if the wreck happens on a public road willl not write a report if the officer believes that the damage is below a specific value. If I recall correctly it's $1,000 in Michigan.

This is exactly how went for me in that hell hole flying j off 81 in Winchester VA.
It happened not once but twice in that same truck stop four years apart.
Both times I called the VA state police and they sent out a trooper to do the information exchange.bad-luck Thanks this.
