    Hello,
Tomorrow Friday I should be delivering a dry load in Longmont, CO.
Now that the truck is almost there, the broker told me that the receiver is short of staff and nobody will be there to unload my truck. They want me to seat tight and wait until Monday 9:00am.
What can I do? I don't want more money, I have 2 more loads line up and I need to get empty ASAP.

    Any suggestions please?.

    charge them detention time.

and stand firm on that, or dump the load in some poor neighborhood.

take this crap now, it'll happen again and again......

They need to find you a xdock to get it off and deal with it themselves on Monday.

I have a question...when you got the info on the shipper and receiver, were contact names and phone numbers given?

Of course you want more money unless you have an off time engagement (family or personal time). The way I see it you already have two loads lined up. If my truck is sitting holding(warehousing) your property you have to pay as you would anywhere else. I would have calculated the money you're going to lose & bill accordingly. If they don't not agree to terms the product needs to be off loaded at nearest facility. I will charge for that also. You're in business nothing personal so bill accordingly and keep trucking.

Not for the receiver in Colorado.
I do have a phone # for the shipper. (I had to call that # so a crew will come to load me up 15 minutes later.

What I meant to say is that no money can cover all the losses If I will I have to cancel my next 2 loads.
Plus I don't want to spend the weekend in Colorado. I have no family or business there. Beautiful city though.
My next 2 loads are from a broker that keeps me busy all year long. I MUST BE EMPTY BY 11:00AM
