Wow I love everything you said. All of it is the truth! So many people love working for Con-Way, ya $600-$700 are if you had a decent week. So many weeks you do make much less and once and a while you will make maybe 1k before taxes, but the following week you will only make $200. I guess for a starter company they are better than others for some guys. But if you get a crappy truck from the draw you are screwed. No money for you. Sad. Conway is good if you want proper training at least. That was what drawed me in. Soay companies do team style training for only 1 week and then set you free. Eeeeeek. No thank you. I guess different people have different experiences. The trucking industry is hard. You put a lot at risk. Hope to one day see it was a good choice and start to make money at it. I know I have to pay my dues which is killer. They really do chew you up and spit you out. You would think with drivers being in such high demand theyd pay you better and take care of you to keep you.

Yeah I am thinking the oilfields. Trying to call some places I see online. I hear the best way to get a job is to just go out there. Thinking of taking some hometime off in DFW Texas and drive the 6 hours in my car and go around in person to apply. Maybe if I land a job there I could stay up in a hotel or get a cheap camper until the money starts coming in. Don't have much saved since I haven't made much.

Yeah that's my delema. Is it better to grunt through it and hit a year because most companies pay better or require 1 year OTR experience. Or just get out and look for a local or oilfield that will take me. Don't know why one is the better choice for long term/ future.

Had some medical problems where she had to take pain meds for a little while so couldn't go in with me at same time. Then 3 months came and Conway told her she couldn't work hete BC too much time passed since she got her license. Have to do it with in 3 months. We didn't realize that. She still wants to drive, but now 6 months passed since she got her license n we wanted to be together so she's been riding with me. Now we don't even think well find a company that would take her now that its been 6 months n shed need to be trained. Wanted to team but life happens unfortunately. Many companies told her shed have to go to school all over again to work. :-(. Upset her and lost out on 4k we paid for her schooling we can't use

Just thought isld remind you Zack before you jump about the annual mileage bonus.

That and I get another two weeks paid vaca at pretty much the same time.

I would have left already but they got me by the nuts....I'm not letting them keep that $3000

Your vaca is a little far out though so idk still somin to consider.

I'd keep going up the chain with that one. I would think Conway would make an exception in order to keep 1 driver/gain a husband & wife team... Might make her take a refresher, but she shouldn't be out $4k...

Otherwise if you don't feel adequately compensated, and know you can get more elsewhere, leave. Covenant would probably work with you & your wife and last I checked they pay teams better anyway. They've got a terminal in Hutchins...

I'm disappointed that I couldn't "stay true to blue," but in the long run I'll probably be better off financially under my own authority. CNW will be hurting if they don't make some changes at the very top soon. Freight guys are unionizing, truckload is experiencing record turnover, menlo has stumbled, & even Conway manufacturing has managed to lose money during an unprecedented trailer building upcycle (its no wonder, I tried to price a signature trailer to replace 21311, but gave up after 3 weeks of getting the run around).

    Hear them numbers, guys?
If this fellow is a company driver with Conway Truckload, then he's either got a father named Geppetto, or he's got a "daddy" in upper management.
